IT'S A .....

GIRL!!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!

YES! YES!  That is right! We are having a wonderful little girl!  So I'll admit... I was trying REALLY hard to be excited about the possibility of having a little boy, but deep down I wanted a little girl - REALLY BAD.  If you know me, you understand why...  I'm soo excited about being able to dress her in cute little hats and headbands with flowers, feathers, rhinestones, glitter and all of the other wonderful little girly accessories that they have nowadays!  I just can't wait!

So a little bit about our big sonogram...

The days leading up to our sonogram were filled with excitement and bets.  Everyone was betting that we were going to have a little boy (well, everyone except my mom).  Of course, every person I spoke to had a different "scientific" reason for explaining why I was going to have a little boy.  Reason (1) - The way I am carrying the baby.  Reason (2) - My morning sickness wasn't THAT bad.  Reason (3) - My progesterone levels were low during the first trimester.  Reason (4) - My friend is having a girl, so I must be having the boy. Reason (5) - The pencil hanging from the string predicted that I was having a boy.  With all of these reasons, how could I possibly be having a girl?

I was fortunate that my mom, sister and Landon came with me to the big sonogram.  That morning, I was sure to have a cup of coffee so that we would have a "show".  With my luck, the baby was going to be asleep with its legs crossed.  I didn't want that to happen, so I "caffeined" up.

When we got to the doctor's office, we're were all giddy and full of excitement.  The sonogram technician started by checking all of the vitals, like the baby’s heartbeat.  Then, she checked to make sure that it had two arms/hands, 2 legs/feet and 10 toes and fingers.  Once she was comfortable that everything was normal, she said “and now for the gender part…”  Cricket… cricket… cricket… I think everyone in the room held their breath.  No one dared to make a sound.  And finally, on the screen was the money shot.  We could tell that we were looking in between the baby’s legs, and I SWEAR I saw two little balls.  Yep, I whispered “it’s a boy…”, and the technician smiled and said “Actually, it’s a little girl”.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!  The room erupted in cheers! I’m pretty sure I did a little fist pump – Jersey style, and then I looked over to Landon.  He was still staring at the screen – dumbfounded.  I’m pretty sure that he did not let out a little cheer, but secretly I think I saw his eyes well up – just a tad.

Anyway, everyone was very excited about the news.  The Harrington group is old pros at this girl thing… But the Ross group will be introducing the first girl into its all-boy club.  Watch out!  Hahaha…

Here are a few pics of the baby …

You can CHECK that one OFF the LIST!

Hello everyone!!  It's been a little over a week since my last post, so I thought I'd write a little message to all of our family and friends.  My last doctor appointment was on May 20th and everything was great!  We were able to hear (and record) the baby's heartbeat.  Very exciting!  Landon has the heartbeat readily accessible on his iphone, so he'd be more than happy to send it to anyone who asks! ha!  We are also SUPER EXCITED that we will find out the sex of the baby in less than a week!  We'll know if its a little cheerleader or baseball player next Monday, June 6th.  I'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as we find out.

I'm also happy to say that today was a very successful day. You can just call me the "GET'R DONE Girl"!  I have officially "pre-registered" for our hospital stay, found a pediatrician and called two daycares for information.  Let's just say that I was able to CHECK that OFF the LIST! Whew!  I'm still hoping to find a nanny (Arce... If you're reading this... you know what I mean :) ha!), but at least in the meantime, I feel like I'm getting something accomplished.

AND... As promised, here a few pics!  The below picture is the first REAL pic of the baby that we got at my 12 week sonogram.  I think it may be sucking its thumb or at least has its fingers near its mouth.  According to Landon, the baby has my nose! Too funny!

AND... Here's my first BELLY shot!  We took this on Sunday afternoon, so I guess this would officially be my "17th Week" shot!

I'll be sure to post more pics next week as soon as we find out if its a GIRL or BOY! Until then, I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello Family & Friends!

Well, as most of you have heard by now, Baby Ross is officially on it's way!!! Miracles do happen, or as Landon would say, "Hell has frozen over!". I think for a long time many people questioned whether we would actually take The BIG Plunge, but here we are and we are very excited!

In an effort to keep everyone posted on the progress of Baby Ross and the pregnancy, I've decided to start this blog. This way, everyone can get up-to-date information whenever they want it. And a special thanks goes out to my sister-n-law, who after much prodding and harassment on FB, has finally encouraged me to get my act in gear and actually get this blog up before Baby Ross is here!! Ha! Thanks, Ali!

So here we go... I'm officially 16 weeks pregnant this coming Monday, May 23rd. So far, everything has been going great! I'm happy to report that the baby and I are healthy and happy. To date, I've had 3 doctor's appointments and have seen a specialist once. Landon and I chose to do the early integrated testing to confirm that the baby is in good health and we're happy to report that everything is A - OK! There were no signs of down syndrome or any other type of disorder. We go in tomorrow for my 16 week check-up, so I'll keep you posted if anything exciting happens!

As of right now, Landon and I still do not know the sex of the baby, but we are definitely going to find out! We can't stand not knowing! We haven't purchased one baby item yet, and my Type A personality is going hay wire because I already feel like I'm behind! That said, many people have told me that I have plenty of time. My big To Get Done items are (1) find childcare (either nanny or daycare), (2) find a pediatrician, and (3) find all of that stupid paperwork that the doctor gave me on the first day that I was supposed to fill out for the hospital and something about classes that I'm supposed to take.... Who has time! Anyway, if you are in the San Antonio area... I'm taking suggestions...

Other than that, I don't think there is much to report! We've had the opportunity to have three sonograms so far. The last time, the baby actually looked like a baby, not just some ball or gummybear. I don't think we will have another sonogram until my 20th or 24th week visit, and I can't wait! We've heard the heartbeat once, for about 5 seconds and then the doctor said that the baby "ran away". Hopefully, we'll have better luck tomorrow. And yes, I'm wearing maternity clothes! Already! I swear my belly just POPPED out last Friday out of no where! It was the craziest thing! After a "small" emotional breakdown in my closet last Friday, Landon took me to get clothes on Saturday. I'm happy to report that I'm not a naked pregnant lady running around town!

I'll be sure to post pictures soon! Talk to you soon!!!
